Meet your site coordinator

Terica Harris is the site coordinator at Chicora. She runs the reading center and will be your go-to source for any questions you may have during your time as a reading partner. She is always available during your tutoring session to share tips and tricks, review lessons, and help keep your student on track.

Liynaaa Muhammad

AmeriCorps Site Coordinator at Chicora Elementary

Liynaaa is currently a student at the Southeastern Institute of Charleston where she is studying medical assisting. She was a former Wings leader at Wings for Kids, which is a non-profit afterschool program, geared towards helping children with social and emotional skills.  She is originally from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania but has been living in Charleston, South Carolina for 13 years. Liynaaa has a 3-year-old daughter named Karee.  She enjoys working with kids and is looking forward to her service term with Reading Partners.

 Jeneen Bellman

 AmeriCorps literacy lead at Chicora Elementary

Jeneen Bellman has lived in North Charleston, SC her entire life. She graduated from the College Of Charleston in 2001 with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Elementary Education and from Trident Technical College in 1998 with an Associates In Arts degree. She has worked in the Charleston County School District for the last eighteen years as a substitute teacher, reading intervention tutor, math tutor, and currently as a Kaleidoscope Lead Counselor at Charleston Progressive Academy. Jeneen believes the children of today are our future and preparing them for it through education, community involvement, and social relations is the best way to establish there future. She enjoyed volunteering with the Reading Partners program last year and is very excited to have the opportunity to work as the Literacy Lead at Chicora this year.

Sharonda Lawrence

Regional Site Coordinator for South Carolina

Sharonda is returning to Reading Partners as an AmeriCorps regional site coordinator. She received her bachelor’s degree in History from Francis Marion University. After college, she began teaching middle school Social Studies in Williamsburg County School District and later taught in Lancaster County School District. Sharonda is a newlywed, the mother of two wonderful boys and is a proud member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc. She joined Reading Partners because of her passion to see every child become a successful reader and develop a love for reading.

Erika McAllister

Program Manager for South Carolina

Erika received her bachelor’s degree in early childhood education from the College of Charleston, SC.  She began working for Charleston County School District in 2005.  During her first years of teaching, she received her master’s degree of integrating the arts into education from Lesley University.  She worked at Charleston County School District as a teacher for eight years before she become a personalized learning coach, where she helped teachers individualize instruction for students.  Erika is excited to further her career with Reading Partners, as she has always believed that reading with a student one-to-one was much more powerful and beneficial for her students!
